Do I have to live in Texas to participate in the virtual triathlon?
No. You can participate in the virtual triathlon from any location.
Can I swim, bike, and run anywhere?
You can swim in a pool, lake, ocean, or anywhere you choose, as long as swimming is allowed at your preferred site. Check with local governance to be certain swimming at specific locations is authorized.
Cycle in a park, on the road, or even on a stationary bike. It’s up to you. Again, just be sure to read local governance to be certain cycling is authorized at the site of your choice. Be safe. When cycling outside, always wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. Make sure your handlebars have plugs on both sides, and never wear ear-buds to hear music while cycling outdoors. Wear reflective clothing, and you may want to consider having flashing lights on your bike and/or reflective tape affixed to the bike frame.
Run on your favorite trail, track, or even a treadmill if you want. Once again, the same logic applies. Make sure you’re authorized to run at your preferred site. Depending on the time of day, you may want to consider wearing reflective, bright colored clothing. In addition, do not wear ear-buds while running outside; it is a safety hazard. You need to be able to hear vehicles or other pedestrians around you.
How long do I have to finish the race?
There are two registration levels. Mustangs must complete the tri in one DAY. Broncos must complete the tri in one WEEK.
Both levels have 7 calendar days after the date of registration to submit times. Times will not be accepted after 7 calendar days.
